When I think about the word plan, what comes to mind is the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.
It’s one of those phrases I knew about, but I didn’t truly know what it meant. When I searched I found a great explanation written by Eileen Mills, she wrote “The meaning of which reminds us that although we may plan for a particular outcome, more often than not, our plans do not unfold in the ways which we originally intended”(https://www.teahousegarden.com/post/the-best-laid-plans)
The second is Man plans and God disposes, which I found is in Proverbs 19 verse 21.
“Many plans are in a man’s mind, But it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand (be carried out). [Job 23:13; Ps 33:10, 11; Is 14:26, 27; 46:10; Acts 5:39; Heb 6:17]”Proverbs 19:21 AMP

Proverbs 19:21 | “Man proposes, but God disposes / while man plan, God wipe out” … We’ve all had our plans come to naught at some point in our lives. It is good to plan but remember to allow God to establish your steps. The purposes of God can never be frustrated by the devices of our heart.
And lastly, a verse from God saying I know the plans I have for you, in Jeremiah 29 verse 11
“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 AMP
Seriously, even now this verse, gives me peace, reminds me to slow down, remember and stop doubting.
Ultimately, for me, I think it boils down to trusting God. Instead of worrying, what I can do is trust God’s plan for my life. I can pray that God prepares me, ask how I can prepare, ask from wisdom and great people around me. Thank God for what he is doing in my life and what’s to come.
As he knows the beginning and the end, his plans are better than anything we may think or even dream for ourselves.
I know how my life has gone when I trusted my own plans and I (capital I) wanted for myself and actively went for send plans ignoring any voice but my own . It did not go well. But thank God he was still with me in those times because it could have gone a lot worse.
Now it’s December, you might be thinking about planning for the new year, writing down goals, targets and potential achievements.
I want to invite you to entrust your plans to God, leave room for God to work in your life and unexpected miracles. (I will too)
And dwell on these verses, Proverbs 16 verse 3 and Proverbs 3 verse 5 to 6
“Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].”
Proverbs 16:3 AMP

And
“Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”
